Interested in the election process? Looking for a way to get involved?  Well this is the place for you. Conducting a voter registration drive or working as a poll worker are great ways to be involved in the election process!

What is the importance of conducting a voter registration drive? As you might have learned from your history or civics classes not everyone was granted the right to vote. Those who came before you saw inequality in having a select few able to vote. They fought for the right to vote with you in mind.

In 1866 African-Americans were granted the right to vote. Women gained the same right in 1920 with the passage of the 19th Amendment, and finally in 1971 the right to vote was extended to 18-year-olds.  Today we have the federal Voting Rights Act that safeguards the rights of all Americans to participate in our electoral system.

This right that others had worked hard to gain is only of value if you take the time to exercise it. There are thousands of Georgia Students who are not yet registered. We need your help to reach out to them and you can do that by hosting a voter registration drive on your campus.
