Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine at its June 23 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine held its meeting on Wednesday, June 23, 2010.

The Board voted to post amendments to Board Rule 700-7-.03 Continuing Veterinary Education and Board Rule 700-7-.04 Veterinary Technician Education. These rules require one hour in laws, ethics and professionalism (LEAP) in person, remove the blanket approval for LEAP continuing education providers, and limit the number of hours that can be acquired through in-house training. 

The Board accepted cease and desist orders on the following individuals:

• Kathy Motter, Jefferson
• Shannon Hobgood, McDonough
• Michelle Robinson, McDonough 

The Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine will hold its next meeting Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
