Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine at its August 19 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine met Wednesday, August 19, 2009.
The Board voted to approve 70 veterinarians, 14 veterinary faculty members and 4 veterinary technicians for licensure.
The Board voted to post the following rule amendments:
- Board Rule 700-6-.01, Application for Registration for Veterinary Technicians: Removes the ability to seek licensure based upon on the job experience.
- Board Rule 700-7-.03, Continuing Veterinary Education: Limits acceptable “in-house” continuing education programs to 6 hours.
The Board recognized Board member Henry Bohn, DVM, the recent recipient of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association’s J.T. Mercer Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine will hold its next meeting Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division in Macon.
