KETAMINE SCAM

The DEA has notified the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy of a possible scam targeting veterinary hospitals. According to the DEA information a letter was sent to veterinarians advising them that there is a recall for Ketamine products (specifically Ketaset and Ketaset Ketalar).

Respondents are asked to provide place of practice and inventory information.  An official at the FDAH has verified that there is no authorized recall of Ketaset. There is suspicion that the hoax is being used to determine the quantity of Ketaset to target locations for robbery or to obtain Ketaset through a phony recall.

Anyone receiving a similar letter should contact their local DEA office.
