Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers at its November 12, 2008 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.

The Board approved Orders Accepting Fine Monies and Settling Inspections on each of the following:

  • Roberts Motor Company, Albany: A $750 fine for three instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Credit Cars of Cartersville, Cartersville: A $1,000 fine for one instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, and one instance of failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date.
  • Northeast Auto Sales & Service, Doraville: A $750 fine for three instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Cars R Us, Columbus: A $1,000 fine for one instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, and one instance of failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date.
  • Coastal Auto Sales, Waycross: A $1,500 fine for six instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • AutoPlex Import, Marietta: A $1,000 fine for one instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, and one instance of failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date.
  • A J & M Auto Sales Inc., Jonesboro: A $250 fine for failure to submit address change.
  • Abernathy Motors, Kingston: A $1,250 fine for five instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • C & L Motors, Monroe: A $1,000 fine for four instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Universal Quality Motors, Forest Park: A $1,000 fine for one instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, and one instance of failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date.
  • Patel Motors, Coolidge: A $1,000 fine for one instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, and one instance of failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date.
  • Autos Unlimited, Cartersville: A $250 fine for one instance of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Auto Barn Atlanta, Marietta: A $5,250 fine for 21 instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Garcia’s Used Cars, Jesup: A $500 fine for failure to maintain surety bond.
  • Atlanta Auto Showcase, Marietta: A $1,000 fine for one instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, and one instance of failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date.
  • Payless Car Sales, Fitzgerald: A $250 fine for one instance of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Cars For Christ, Covington: A $500 fine for failure to maintain surety bond.
  • Auto Gallery International LLC, Gainesville: A $1,250 fine for five instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Don’s Auto Sales Inc., Marietta: $1,000 for 2 failures to apply for title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale.
  • David Hodges Cars, Valdosta: A $1,500 fine for six instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Gold Key Auto Inc., Waycross: A $1,750 fine for seven instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on each vehicle offered for sale.
  • Five Star Sales Inc., Covington: A $1,000 fine for one instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, and one instance of failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date.

The Board issued Cease & Desist Orders on each of the following for unlicensed practice:

  • Iron Horse Auto Sales, Kennesaw
  • Iron Horse Auto Sales, Jasper

The Georgia State Board of Registration for Used Motor Vehicle Dealers will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Board office in Macon.
