Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers at its October 15 Meeting

Macon, Ga. – The Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers held hearings on Wednesday, October 15, 2008.

The Board voted to issue Final Decisions on each of the following cases:

• Morris Greason Used Cars, Lawrenceville: A $1,500 fine for failure to submit a change of address and five instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• Daniel’s Used Cars, Dublin: A $1,250 fine for failure to submit a change of address and two instances of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 90 calendar days after the date of sale.
• Payless Car Sales, Fitzgerald: A $250 fine for failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on a vehicle offered for sale.
• Sycamore Auto Sales, Sycamore: A $500 fine for two instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• Underwood Used Cars, Americus: A $500 fine for two instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• Car World Inc., Savannah: A $2,250 fine for seven instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale and for an instance of failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 90 calendar days after the date of sale.
• Gerrald Auto Sales LLC, Garden City: A $1,000 for four instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• Waters Liquidation Center LLC, Alma: A $4,000 for 16 instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• Union Auto Sales, Marietta: A $1,750 for seven instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• New Line Auto Sales, Norcross: A $2,750 fine for failure to submit a change of address and ten instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• Gobran Auto Sales, Duluth: A $3,375 for 14 instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• David Hodges Cars & Trucks, Valdosta: A $1,500 for six instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.
• Riverside Car & Truck Sales, Columbus: A $1,250 fine for five instances of failure to post FTC Buyer Guides on vehicles offered for sale.

The Board voted to wave citations in the following cases:

The Georgia State Board of Registration of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
