Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Registration of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers at its December 12 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Registration of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 12, 2007. The meeting served as a hearing to provide licensees the opportunity to appeal their Inspection Citations.

The Board voted to issue Final Decisions on each of the following cases heard:

  • Amyn Motors, Inc. of Tucker, GA was fined for 20 failures to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale; 20 failures to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date; and 14 failures to post FTC Buyer’s Guides on each vehicle offered for sale. Fines totaled $23,500.00.
  • Budget Auto Sales of Macon, GA was fined for 3 failures to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale; and 3 failures to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date. Fines totaled $3,000.00
  • Fairway Motors, LLC of Tucker, GA was fined for 2 failures to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale; and 2 failures to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date. Fines totaled $2,000.00
  • Georgia Motors, LLC of Loganville, GA was fined for 20 failures to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale; 20 failures to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date; and 15 failures to post FTC Buyer’s Guides on each vehicle offered for sale. Fines totaled $23,750.00.
  • Macon Deals, Inc. of Macon, GA was fined for 2 failures to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale and 2 failures to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date. Fines totaled $2,000.00.
  • McGhee Auto Sales, Inc. of Decatur, GA was fined for 1 failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale; and failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date. Fines totaled $1,000.00.
  • Motorworks, Inc. of Macon, GA was fined for 1 failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale and 1 failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date. Fines totaled $1,000.00.
  • Six-Five Quality Used Cars, Inc. of Decatur, GA was fined for 1 failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale; 1 failure to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date; and 7 failures to post FTC Buyer’s Guides on each vehicle offered for sale. Fines totaled $2,750.00.
  • TCL Auto Sales of Gray, GA was fined for 7 failures to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale and 7 failures to furnish appropriate documents required for tag transfer to the retail purchaser within 30 days of purchase date. Fines totaled $7,000.00.

The Board voted to waive the citation of Davis Motors, Inc. of Decatur, GA and J. Franklin Auto Sales, Inc. of Macon, GA.

The Board voted to accept the Voluntary Cease and Desist Order from Pro Auto Group of Duluth, GA for offering used motor vehicles for sale from an unlicensed location.

The Georgia State Board of Registration for Used Motor Vehicle Dealers will hold their next meeting on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
