Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy at its January 25 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy met on Tuesday, January 25, 2011.

The Board voted to adopt the following rule amendments:

  • 490-4-.01 Renewal and Reinstatement of License and Penalties; the main feature of the rule amendment adds a requirement for an applicant who is unable to document that he/she has practiced as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant within two years but is able to document such practice within five years.
  • 490-4-.04 Inactive License; the main feature of the proposed rule amendment adds a requirement of a training period for individuals who have been out of practice prior to his/her license being considered for reinstatement from inactive status.

The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy will hold its next meeting Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
