Submit an application for licensure with the required fee
Submit proof of graduation from an ACPE approved school or college of Pharmacy.
Complete 1500 internship hours prior to sitting for the examination. Hours must be received in Board office two (2) weeks prior to the examination date.
The Board will accept up 1000 school hours under the Doctor of Pharmacy program and up to 480 hours under the B.S. Pharmacy program.
A minimum of 20 and a maximum of 50 internship hours per week are required.
If the applicant desires to obtain these hours in a non-conventional setting such as a research lab, a chemical plant, etc., the applicant must seek prior approval from the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy by submitting his/her request in writing. The maximum number of hours allowed is one (1) hour of credit for every two (2) hours worked, not to exceed a maximum of two hundred (200) hours credit.
No internship hours will be accepted if received prior to obtaining a Georgia intern license.
If the applicant obtained his/her internship hours in another state, these hours must be transferred directly from the state board office in which the hours were obtained. These hours must also include hours worked after enrolled in school; the applicant must contact that state to request that the hours be transferred to Georgia.
