Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers at its May 12 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers held its meeting on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.
The Board approved the following orders to accept fine money for inspection violations:
- World Auto, Lilburn, $4,000: Failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules
- Jordan Auto Sales Inc., Jonesboro, $500: Failure to furnish the retail purchaser of a vehicle the proper documents to obtain a tag for that vehicle within thirty calendar days from the date of purchase
- San Luis Auto Sales, Gainesville, $1,000: Failing to maintain the required surety bond or liability insurance, failure to display license in a conspicuous place at the licensed location, failure to display/possess current sales tax certificate and failure to maintain an established place of business
- Express Auto Sales & Rental Inc., Augusta, $500: Failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale
- D & R Automotive, Atlanta, $1,000: Failure to furnish the retail purchaser of a vehicle the proper documents to obtain a tag for that vehicle within thirty calendar days from the date of purchase
- Watson Motor Co. Inc., Savannah, $1,000: Failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules and failure to furnish the retail purchaser of a vehicle the proper documents to obtain a tag for that vehicle within thirty calendar days from the date of purchase
- Etowah Motors, Dahlonega, $750: Failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules and failure to furnish the retail purchaser of a vehicle the proper documents to obtain a tag for that vehicle within thirty calendar days from the date of purchase
- Chris Motors, Decatur, $500: Failing to maintain the required surety bond or liability insurance
- Drive Time, Marietta, $1,000: Failing to maintain the required surety bond or liability insurance
- Trucks and Trails Inc., Thomasville, $500: Failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules
- Bell Auto Sales, Port Wentworth, $1,250: Failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules
- Car World, Savannah, $2,250: Failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules
- 1st City Auto Sales, Brunswick, $2,250: Failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale, failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules and failing to maintain the required surety bond or liability insurance
- 1st City Auto Sales, Brunswick, $1,000: Failure to apply for a title in the retail purchaser’s name within 30 calendar days after the date of sale and failure to furnish the retail purchaser of a vehicle the proper documents to obtain a tag for that vehicle within thirty calendar days from the date of purchase
- Rabun Motors, Clayton, $1,000: Failure to display a properly completed buyers guide as prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission Rules

The Georgia State Board of Used Motor Vehicle Dealers will hold its next meeting Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
