Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Occupational Therapy at its January 18 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Occupational Therapy held its bi-monthly meeting on Friday, January 18.

The Board voted to post the following rule changes for 30 days 

  • Rule 671-2-.05, Repeal: Deletes the rule language because the purpose of the rule is not clear as it does not relate to, explain or clarify any law applicable to the Board or any rule of the Board.
  • Rule 671-3-.08 Renewal of License/Penalties/Continuing Education Requirements: Adds language to clarify the current rule regarding continuing education requirements for individuals initially licensed in the second year of the biennium renewal period.
  • Rule 671-3-.09 Restored License: Updates the current rule with regard to the time frame for obtaining the required continuing education hours for the restoration of an expired or lapsed license.

The Board will hold a public hearing to discuss and vote on whether to accept the proposed changes to the rule. The date of the public hearing will be posted on the Board’s http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/ot/.

The Georgia State Board of Occupational Therapy will hold their next meeting on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
