Continuing Education

All Georgia Licensed Dispensing Opticians are required to complete ten (10) hours of Continuing Education with each biennial license renewal period.

Before attending any Continuing Education program, please verify with the provider that the program is approved as follows:

•   The Georgia Board now approves two (2) hours of internet or on-line courses. (See Board Rule 420-9-.01)

•   The Georgia Board does not allow home study or journal (magazine) study for continuing education credit.

•   ABO & NCLE programs are not automatically approved.  Each ABO & NCLE programs must apply for and receive individual program approval.

•   All programs given by any recognized national, regional or state dispensing society or association is awarded automatic approval.
