Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy at its October 27-28 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Massage Therapy met on Wednesday and Thursday, October 27-28, 2010.

The following petitions for waiver/variance requests were presented to the Board:

• Brenda Cooney, Denied
• Misti Noack, Denied
• Peter P Aslanidis, Denied
• Preeti Senjalia, Granted
• Shelby Abusini, Denied
• Sherry Cook, Denied
• Terrence Messer, Denied

The Board voted to suspend 28 massage therapy licenses for failure to repay student loans.

The Board voted to approve the following 2011 Board meeting dates:

• February 11, 2011
• April 8, 2011
• June 24, 2011
• August 26, 2011
• October 14, 2011
• December 9, 2011

The Board voted to adopt the amendments to the following rules as currently posted:

• Rule 345-3-.02 Applications for Licensure
• Rule 345-4-.02 Continuing Education Hours
• Rule 345-4-.04 Inactive Status
• Rule 345-5-.01 Licensure by Endorsement
• Rule 345-6-.01 Professional and Unprofessional Conduct
• Rule 345-10-.01 General Provisions
• Rule 345-10-.03 Unlicensed Practice

The Georgia Board of Massage Therapy will hold its next meeting Friday, December 10, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
