Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy at its February 26 and 27 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Massage Therapy met on Thursday, February 26 and Friday, February 27, 2009.
The Board voted to approve the following applicants for licensure:
- Catherine Carter, Alpharetta
- Parnisia Duckworth, Atlanta
- Patsy Dugger, Columbus
- Andrea Green, Snellville
- Carlie Hight, Bainbridge
- Jared Hill, Smyrna
- Andrea Lugo, Newnan
- Curly Raphino, Atlanta
- Brandon Reaves, Bolivar, TN
- Jennifer Rinne, Woodstock
- Faith Rogers, Acworth
- Traci Trulock, Whigham
- Nilza Turner, Alpharetta
- Christine Pearson, Fort Lauderdale, FL
The Board voted to accept a cease and desist order from the following individual for unlicensed practice:
The Board voted to adopt the Proposed Rules Amendments as posted:
- 345-1-.01, Definitions: The purpose of the proposed amendment is to define an additional nationally available exam acceptable to the Board. The main feature of the proposed amendment is to add a second nationally available exam approved by the Board as one requirement for licensure.
- 345-3-.02, Application for Licensure Post July 1, 2007: The purpose of the proposed rule amendment is to add an additional licensure exam approved by the Board. The main feature of the proposed rule amendment is to list a second national licensure exam acceptable to the Board.
- 345-4-.02, Continuing Education Hours: The purpose of the proposed amendment is to define an additional nationally available exam acceptable to the Board. The main feature of the proposed amendment is to add a second nationally available exam approved by the Board as one requirement for licensure.
The Georgia Board of Massage Therapy will hold its next meeting Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
