Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses at its April 15-16 Board Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses met on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16, 2009.
The Board conducted its annual public meeting for the faculty and nursing students at Georgia’s technical colleges. Forty-eight faculty members and 195 students attended. The Board listened to comments on the application process, discipline process and general comments. Questions were taken from the faculty and students.
The Board voted to license 359 applicants, including initial licensure, reinstatements, endorsements & equivalency.
The Board accepted the following public consent orders for licensure by endorsement:
- Adam Courtney Lasher, Gainesville: Four years probationary licensure.
- Sylvia Ann Wallace, St. Florala, AL: Public reprimand.
The Board accepted the following public consent orders for reinstatement:
- Sandra Joyce Bray, Hampton: Fined $500.
The Board voted to accept the voluntary surrender of the following individual’s license:
- Pamela Ann Brown, Summerville
The Board ratified a cease and desist order for unlicensed practice from the following individual:
- Merle E. Jennigan, Richland
The following licenses were suspended by the Board for default on a student loan:
- Mandy Raquel Sirmans, Goose Creek, SC
The Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses will hold its next meeting Wednesday, June 3; Thursday, June 4; and Friday, June 5, 2009 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon, Ga.
