Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses at its July 16-17 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses held its bi-monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17, 2008.

The Board voted unanimously to adopt an amendment to the following rules as posted (www.sos.ga.gov/plb/lpn):

• Rule 400-2-.05, Exam & Re-Exam: Clarified the 45 day wait period before a candidate may be made eligible to retake a failed exam and the administrative procedures following a failed exam.

• Rule 400-2-.06, Temporary Permit: Extension of validity from six to nine months with additional requested extensions at the Board’s discretion.

The Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nurses will hold its next meeting Wednesday, September 10; Thursday, September 11; and Friday, September 12, 2008 beginning at 9:00 a.m. each day at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
