Instructions for Applying for Initial License Online


  1. To begin the inital application proccess, click the "Submit an Initial Application" button (shown below) located on the Professional Licensing Boards homepage.

                                              

  2. The next screen will contain a list of the license types that are eligible to submit an application online. If the license type for which you wish to apply appears on the screen, click the " Click Here to Begin to the Online Application Process" to begin the process. If the license type for which you wish to apply does not appear in the list, you must submit a paper application. Go to the Professional Licensing Boards homepage and choose the profession homepage. You can download any application by going the "Download Forms" area under the "Online Services" drop down for any profession.

  3. The next screen is the Georgia Online Application Services screen. If you have never registered with us, you must go through the registration process. If you already have a User Id and Password, go to step # 8 of these instructions.

  4. Once you click the "...,click here to continue the registration process.", enter your last name and social security number in the fields and click the "Search" button.

  5. If your record is found, go to step # 7 of these instructions.

  6. If your record is not found, the process will automatically send you to the Initial Application Registration page. If you know that you currently hold or have held a license issued by any of the boards that comprise the Professional Licensing Boards, please do not continue with the registration process. Call the Professional Licensing Boards at (478) 207-2440 for assistance.

  7. Complete all of the required fields and click the "Register" button. The process will automatically send you to a screen that says "You have successfully registered... Please click here to login..." This will take you back to the login screen.

  8. Enter your user id and password and click the "Login" button.

  9. To start the initial application process, click the "Initial Application" link that is located in the menu options on the left side of the screen.

  10. Follow the directions on the screen and select the Profession, License Type, and Obtain By Method for which you wish to apply. Then click the "Next" button.

  11. The next screen provides information about entering your mailing address. Please read the information provided on this page and click the "Enter Mailing Address" button.

  12. Enter the required address information and click the "Next Step" button.

  13. At this point in the application process, you must provide answers to specific questions regarding your application. Please read the information and the questions carefully, selecting "Yes" or "No" from the drop down for each question. Once you have answered all of the quesitons, please click the "Submit Answers" button. By clicking the "Submit Answers" button, you are swearing or affirming that you understand and have answered all of the quesitons to the best of your knowledge.

  14. The next screen is the information summary page. It allows you to review all of the information and question answers you provided during the application process. If you wish to change any of your answers, please click the "Back" button in your browser until you reach the screen that contains the information you wish to correct. Once you are satisfied that all of the information is correct, click the "Pay Fees and Submit" link at the bottom of the page.

  15. The next screen is the "Checkout" page. Enter the required credit or debit card information and click the "Submit" button.

  16. Your receipt should appear on the next screen. Remember to print a copy of your receipt, as well as, download any additional information forms that you were directed to submit via fax or mail.
