Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Funeral Services at its October 5 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Funeral Services met on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.

The Board voted to approve three funeral director licenses and three embalmer licenses.

The Board accepted the following order to cease and desist for unlicensed practice:

• Marty Byars, Byars Shipping and Cremation Services, Cumming

The Board approved the following orders to accept fine money for inspection violations:

• Moore Funeral Home, Harlem: $50 for failure to conspicuously display a current biennial renewal license for the establishment, embalmer, funeral director and any apprentices.
• Sunset Funeral Home, Kingsland: $200 for failure to maintain a sink with drain opening and non porous sanitary cover into a sewerage or septic tank.

The Georgia Board of Funeral Services will hold its next meeting Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
