Action Taken by the Georgia State Board of Funeral Service at its November 18 Meeting

Macon, GA – The Georgia State Board of Funeral Service held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2008.

The Board approved the following order to accept fine money for inspection violations and settling cases:

• Angel Heights Funeral Service, Hawkinsville: Fine of $150 for failure to have an operable hearse and for failure to have a current biennial renewal license for the establishment, embalmer, funeral director, and any apprentices conspicuously displayed.

The Board established a new policy making applications valid for six months. After six months, incomplete applications will be presented to the Board for further action.

The Board approved the following meeting dates for the upcoming year:

The Georgia State Board of Funeral Service will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
