Action Taken by the Georgia Board of Funeral Service at its October 14, 2008 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Funeral Service held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

The Board approved the following orders to accept fine monies for inspection violations and settling cases:

• Andrews Funeral Home, Atlanta: Fined $150 for failure to install back flow preventer and failure to provide ID of deceased body.
• Williford’s Funeral Home, Cairo: Fined $250 for failure to have a non-porous sanitary sink cover and failure to have pricing information on caskets.
• Guyton Brothers Funeral Home, Bainbridge: Fined $50 for failure to have a non-porous sanitary sink cover.

The Board also accepted a Final Decision Order on the following:

• Miller Funeral Home, Griffin: The order revokes the Funeral Establishment license on the recommendation of the Administrative Law Judge.

The Georgia Board of Funeral Service voted to change the date of the November 2008 meeting to November 18, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
