Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Funeral Service at its August 12 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Funeral Service held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2008.
The Board approved the following orders to accept fine monies for inspection violations and settling cases:
Vincent R. Drummer Funeral Home, Vidalia: Fined $50 for failure to screen all outside ventilation openings.
McDowell’s Funeral Home, Griffin: Fined $100 for failure to screen all outside ventilation openings and failure to use a nonporous sanitary sink cover.
Worthy & Son Mortuary LLC, Manchester: Fined $450 for failure to maintain sanitary and clean instruments and tables; failure to provide a written statement of costs of goods and services; and failure to conspicuously display wall certificates and current renewal license of establishment and all employees.
Sherrell Wilson Mangham Funeral Home, Jackson: Fined $100 for failure to provide ID of a deceased body.
Andrews Funeral Home, Atlanta: Fined $150 for failure to install back flow preventer and failure to provide ID of a deceased body.
The Board approved the Voluntary Cease and Desist orders for unlicensed practice on the following:
Vanessa L. Sutton, Atlanta.
Mary Brown, Atlanta.
The Board also approved the Voluntary Surrender order on the following:
John Roger Miller, Griffin: Mr. Miller surrendered his funeral director’s license.
The Georgia State Board of Funeral Service will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Board in Macon.
