Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Dentistry at its February 15 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Dentistry held its monthly meeting on Friday, February 15, 2008.

The Board voted to accept the following public consent orders:

  • Samuel D. Collins, DDS, Stone Mountain: Felony conviction. The Board indefinitely suspended his license.
  • Shamim Cyrus, DMD, Atlanta: Undergo 10 additional hours of continuing education for substandard treatment.
  • Walker B. Moore, Jr., DDS, Stone Mountain: 5 years probation; 45 additional hours of continuing education; $1,500 fine; and refund patient for substandard care.
  • David E. Olson, DMD, Kennesaw: 5 years probation; remain in aftercare and meet conditions of aftercare group; restrictions on prescribing capabilities and controlled substances access; and must practice under a supervising dentist in order to lift license suspension enacted 2000.
  • Barbara L. Rucker, DDS of Lawrenceville: 3 years probation; 34 additional hours of continuing education; completion of course on law, ethics and professionalism; and $1,000 fine for 2 complaints of substandard care.

The Georgia Board of Dentistry is scheduled to hold their next meeting Friday, March 21, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division in Macon.
