Actions Taken by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists at its September 2 Meeting
Macon, Ga. - The Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists met on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011.
The Board voted to license 19 associate professional counselors by exam waiver, 13 professional counselors by exam waiver, one professional counselor by reinstatement, six clinical social workers by exam waiver, six master social workers by exam waiver and two marriage and family therapists by exam waiver.
The following petitions for variance/waiver requests were presented to the Board:
- Felecia L. Bowers; Rule 135-5-.04 Clinical Social Workers, Amended; Board Decision: Pending further board review.
- Janet Yo-Variance; Rule 135-5-.04 Clinical Social Workers, Amended; Board Decision: Denied. Applicant must apply for licensure under the current requirements.
- Louise Hill; Variance-Rule 135-5-.04 Clinical Social Workers, Amended; Board Decision: Denied; insufficient evidence provided to prove hardship.
The board voted to post amendments to Rule 135-5-.04 Clinical Social Workers for the 30-day minimum requirement upon the receipt of the memo of authority from AAG.
The board voted to post amendments to Rule 135-5.05 Associate Marriage and Family Therapists and 135-5-.06 Marriage and Family Therapists
for the 30-day minimum requirement upon the receipt of the memo of authority from AAG.
The Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists will hold its next meeting Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at 9 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
