Actions Taken by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists at its April 1 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists met Friday, April 1, 2011.

The Board voted to license 17 associate professional counselors by exam waiver, 27 professional counselors by exam waiver, two professional counselors by endorsement, eight clinical social workers by exam waiver, and nine master social workers by exam waiver, one master social worker by reactivation, and three marriage and family therapists by exam waiver.

The following petitions for variance/waiver requests were presented to the Board:

  • Marie Cadden, Evans, Rule 135-5-.04 (3). Board Decision: Waiver request should be withdrawn. 
  • Eugene Herrington, Atlanta, Rule 135-9-.01. Board Decision: Licensee requested waiver to be withdrawn.
  • Carol McMillar, Macon, Rule 135-6-.06. Board Decision: Denied; licensee must file for reinstatement.
  • Lynn Wheeler, Americus, Rule 135-5-.03. Board Decision: Waiver request is not required; apply for licensure.

The Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists will hold its next meeting Friday, May 6, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
