Actions Taken by the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors at its March 3 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors met on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
The Board voted to ratify 146 general contractor licenses that were issued from January 6, 2010 through March 2, 2010.
The Board voted to ratify 50 residential basic licenses and 35 residential-light licenses that were issued from February 3, 2010 through March 2, 2010.
The Board voted to deny one residential basic license and one residential-light license.
The Board ratified the acceptance of the following voluntary cease and desist orders for unlicensed practice:
- Metro Power, Inc., Albany
- Edward T. Sabarian/Blue Ridge Stone Co., Inc., Griffin
- Robert Gary Dave, Sr., Lake Park
- Judith Smith DBA Affordable Basement Visions, Roswell
The Board ratified the acceptance of the following public consent orders for probationary licensure:
- John Thomas Dill, Dawsonville: Filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Georgia on or about August 17, 2009.
- Woodrow Wilson Pickett, Richmond Hill: Previous company, Costal Living Homes, Inc., filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Georgia on or about December 21, 2009.
The Board voted to repost the following proposed rules:
- Rule 553-12-.02 Continuing Education Residential. The purpose of this rule is to establish continuing education requirements for the residential division.
- Rule 553-12-.03 Programs Which Qualify. The purpose of this rule is to identify which types of programs will qualify as acceptable continuing education for the residential division.
The Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors will hold its next meeting Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division in Macon.
