Actions Taken by the Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners at its December 13 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners held its bi-monthly meeting on Thursday, December 13.

The Board voted to accept the following public orders:

  • Interim Consent Order for Indefinite Suspension: Arthur L. Hargraves, D.C., Douglasville.  Under Federal Indictment.
  • Reinstatement Consent Order: John T. Duke, D.C., Atlanta. Failure to renew license.   
  • Consent Order: Russell A. Friedman, D.C., Atlanta. Failure to conspicuously indentify himself with the title “chiropractor,” “doctor of chiropractic” or “D.C.”
  • Cease & Desist Order: Donald Rounds, Dahlonega. Unlicensed practice.
  • Voluntary Surrender: Eric John Baty, D.C., Atlanta.

The Board voted to adopt the following revised Board Rules:

  • 100-4-.02 Diplomate Status/Certifications: The rule revision added The Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists as an approved diplomate or certification status that can be used by Georgia licensed D.C.’s.
  • 100-5-.01 Hours Required: The rule revision clarified wording pertaining to types of coding continuing education classes not accepted by the board. 
  • 100-12-.01 Approved Chiropractic Schools or Colleges: The rule revisions added Palmer College in Port Orange, Florida to the list of approved chiropractic colleges or schools.

The Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners will hold their next meeting on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
