Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Barbers at its May 11 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Barbers met on Monday, May 11, 2009.
The Board voted to ratify cease and desist orders issued to the following establishment:
- What A Cut Barber Shop, Forest Park
The Board voted to deny licensure as a Master Barber by endorsement to the following individuals:
- Jose K. Succar, Canton
- Marc C. Patterson, Atlanta
The Board adopted a policy concerning examinations that exam candidates must pass the written and practical examinations with a minimum score of 70 using the scale score before they may be eligible for a master barber license.
The Board voted to refer the following licensees to the Attorney General’s office for revocation of licensure due to unpaid fines:
- Glover’s Barbershop, Hephzibah
- Clippers of Douglasville, Douglasville
The Board voted to uphold the citations against the following establishments or individuals:
- Eleven 20 Barber Shop, Atlanta
- Hensons Barber Shop, Columbus
- JB & Co Barber, Union City
- Miami Cutz, Canton
- Nu-Image Barber Shop II, Hinesville
- Oakland Park Barber, Columbus
- Razor Cuts, LaGrange
- Southside Professional, Savannah
- Teez Cutz, Atlanta
- The Spot, Columbus
The Board voted to uphold the citation against the following individual but reduce the fine:
The Board voted to dismiss the citations against the following establishments:
- J&L Barber Shop, Fayetteville
- Jermaines Cuts & Styles, Decatur
- Professional Touch 2, Atlanta
The Board voted to grant continuances in regard to citations against the following establishments:
- It’s Official Barber Shop, Savannah
- Robertson & Son, Cochran
The Georgia State Board of Barbers will hold its next meeting Monday, June 8, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
