Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Accountancy at its February 25 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Accountancy met on Wednesday, February 25, 2009.

The Board voted to approve cease and desist orders to the following firms for unlicensed practice:

• Drakeford & Drakeford, Mableton
• Houston & Company, Woodstock

The Board voted to approve a consent order notifying the public of a settlement agreement with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of CPAs for deficiencies in the performance of professional services:

• Anderson & Adkins, Augusta: Issue a Consent Order for unlicensed practice.

The Board voted to suspend the follow individual’s license for noncompliance with a child support order:

• John Cooper Hall, Jr., Dublin

The Georgia State Board of Accountancy will hold its next meeting Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
