Qualifying Candidates for the Senate District 13 Special Primary

The following candidates have qualified for Georgia’s state Senate District 13 Special Primary Election.

The qualifying period will end on Friday, July 18, 2008 at noon. The qualifying fee is $400.00.

The Special Primary Election will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008. The Special Primary will be held in Ben Hill, Crisp, Irwin, Lee, Tift, Turner and Worth counties, and a portion of Wilcox County. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. A run-off election, if necessary, will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2008.

Advance voting will be held Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1, 2008.

Absentee ballots can be requested through Friday, August 1 and must be returned to the county registrar’s office by close of business on Tuesday, August 5. An absentee ballot request form can be found at http://sos.georgia.gov/elections/elections/voter_information/absentee.htm. Photo identification is not required when voting by mail.
