Notice is hereby given that a special election shall be held in Bibb, Crawford and Peach Counties on November 2, 2010, to fill the unexpired term of the Honorable Howard Simms.  A special run-off election, if needed, shall be held on November 30, 2010.

Qualifying for the special election shall be held in the Elections Division of the Office of Secretary of State, 1104 West Tower, 2 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30334-1505.  The dates and hours of qualifying will be Monday, July 26, 2010 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m.; Tuesday, July 27, 2010 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, July 28, 2010 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at noon. The qualifying fee shall be $3,430.61 for this office.

All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to vote in the special election must register to vote before the close of business on Monday, October 4, 2010.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010.
