Capitol Museum Virtual Tour: 1939 World's Fair Diorama - Turpentine

This diorama shows how pine tree gum was harvested in Georgia early in the 20th century.  In 1902 Dr. Charles Holmes Herty introduced a system for collecting sap from Georgia pines as depicted, saving the trees and increasing the yield.
