A search of the Georgia Archives internal database yields well over 2,000 references to water resources within our collections. References to water are scattered throughout the records but found primarily within the records of the Office of the Governor and the Department of Natural Resources.

Although the Archives cannot list every available record here, what follows is a list of the key records related to water resources. These items were selected for one or more of the following reasons:

  1. They document comprehensive or near-comprehensive studies of water resources in Georgia;
  2. They document inter-state negotiations or agreements regarding water resources;
  3. They describe the issues related to collecting, allocating, and distributing water within or across jurisdictional boundaries;
