Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy at its September 15 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy met on Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
The Board voted to rescind the posting of the following rule amendments:
- 490-2-.02 Licensure: Examination. Adds a requirement that licensure candidates provide license verifications for any physical therapy or physical therapy assistance license ever held.
- 490-2-.03, Licensure: Foreign Educated Applicants (Re-titled Licensure: Examination. Foreign Educated Applicants): Changes the title of the rule and adds a 1,000 hour traineeship for non-Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education graduates with less than two years of active practice immediately preceding the application for Georgia licensure.
- 490-2-.04, Training Permits: Provides information on the types of applicants who qualify for training permits and the timeframe allowed to complete the permit.
The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy will hold its next meeting Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
