Actions Taken by Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy at its May 19 Meeting
Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy met on Tuesday, May 19, 2009.
The Board voted to post the following rule amendments:
- 490-2-.02 Licensure: Examination. Adds a requirement that licensure candidates provide license verifications for any physical therapy or physical therapy assistance license ever held.
- 490-2-.03 Licensure: Foreign Educated Applicants to be renamed Licensure: Examination. Foreign Educated Applicants. Changes the title of the rule and adds a 1000 hour traineeship for non-CAPTE graduates with less than two years of active practice immediately preceding the application for Georgia licensure.
- 490-2-.04 Training Permits. Provides information on the types of applicants who qualify for training permits and the timeframe allowed to complete the permit.
- 490-2-.09 Licensure: Endorsement. Adds the requirement of Georgia law examination for endorsement candidates.
The Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy will hold its next meeting Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards in Macon.
