Instructions for Online Applicants for Licensure By Examination

Graduates of Georgia Board of Nursing approved schools, who are applying for licensure by examination, may now apply online. 

  1. Register online at www.pearsonvue.com/nclex for the national exam.  Your eligibility to test will be delayed if you have not registered with the testing service at the time your application is initially reviewed by board staff.  Please ensure that you enter the correct school code for your educational program.  Do not leave this field blank.  School codes may be found in the Candidate Bulletin at www.ncsbn.org.
     
  2. Apply online for licensure by examination by visiting https://secure.sos.state.ga.us/mylicense/Login.aspx?process=app  Please note that application fees are non-refundable.
     
  3. Criminal background checks are required by O.C.G.A §43-26-7.  To comply with this requirement, you should register with COGENT Systems online at www.ga.cogentid.com or by calling 1-888-439-2512.  Complete fingerprint information is available by clicking on the links below.
