Statewide registration of births began in 1919. These records are not available at the Georgia Archives. State law (O.C.G.A. 31-10-25) stipulates that birth records must be
100 years old before being transferred to the Georgia Archives. The first birth records will become available at the state archives in
2019.
For birth records from 1919 to the present, researchers may contact the
